Thoughtful Consumption: Announcing Kasper De Vos as September’s Artist of the Month

BRUSSELS / GHENT – Continuing our autumn editorial programming, Pluartis turns its spotlight to Belgian visual artist Kasper De Vos as our Artist of the Month for September 2026.

Based in Ghent, De Vos has carved out a distinct voice in contemporary sculpture and installation through his tactile, humorous, and deeply inventive assemblages. His practice transforms the mundane into the extraordinary, frequently drawing inspiration from consumer culture, food motifs, traditional craftsmanship, and everyday urban detritus. By recontextualizing market stalls, discarded packaging, and found objects into vibrant three-dimensional forms, he creates works that feel simultaneously raw, celebratory, and subtly critical of modern consumption.

De Vos treats materials as living narratives. Through a mix of traditional sculpting techniques and thoughtful assemblage, his spatial interventions play with scale, texture, and human interaction, inviting viewers to reconsider their relationship with the physical objects that populate daily life. His playful yet incisive engagement with material culture provides a fascinating visual contribution to our platform’s broader inquiries into form, space, and human environment.
