Following the launch of our editorial focus on William Kentridge’s residency as Bozar’s Grand Invité, Pluartis is pleased to announce the distinguished lineup of Kentridge’s long-standing artistic partners in our new feature series. Over the coming weeks, we will present dedicated profiles, archival materials, and exclusive written interviews with some of the pivotal figures whose vision, design, and technical mastery have profoundly shaped Kentridge’s global stage works, installations, and films.
Episode 1: Žana Marović
To inaugurate the series, we spotlight video editor and projection designer Žana Marović. Working fluidly at the intersection of film, live performance, and contemporary art, Marović has been instrumental in translating Kentridge’s hand-drawn, process-driven aesthetic into complex, multi-screen visual environments. This first profile explores her unique dual trajectory – from medical school in Sarajevo to contemporary art in Johannesburg – and how her foundational background informs an editorial sensibility defined by structural precision, temporal rhythm, and narrative fragmentation.
