Voices of the Ensemble: Pluartis Launches Feature Series on William Kentridge’s Creative Ecosystem
BRUSSELS – On 18 September 2026, Bozar opens I am not me, the horse is not mine, a landmark season marking South African artist William Kentridge’s return to Brussels as Bozar’s Grand Invité for 2026–2027. Running until 7 March 2027, this extensive exhibition and performance programme celebrates an artistic practice that seamlessly moves between drawing, animation, opera, and theatre.
To coincide with this season, Pluartis is launching an exclusive multi-part editorial series dedicated to the long-standing master collaborators who help bring Kentridge’s complex visual world to life.
The Power of Collaboration
While Kentridge’s erased charcoal drawings serve as the visual engine of his work, his globally acclaimed stage productions, multi-screen video installations, and operas are forged through decades of collective creation. From hand-crafted scale models and syncopated video editing to haunting soundscapes and theatrical puppetry, Kentridge’s practice operates as a collaborative ecosystem.
